Rocky Mountain Associates'
Medication Management Policy
- Prescription refills may be requested Monday - Thursday from 8:30
am to 4:00 pm. Please allow 24 to 48 hours for a response. Narcotics refills
require a handwritten prescription so please plan accordingly.
- Medications cannot be refilled if you have not had an office visit
within the preceding 3-month period.
- Prescriptions cannot be refilled after office hours, on Fridays or
on weekends.
- Lost or stolen prescriptions cannot be replaced.
- To request a prescription refill call your pharmacy directly.
You will need to give the pharmacy our phone number, 970-669-8881, so they
can call us for the refill. You must use the same pharmacy each time.
- If you have any problems with prescription medications (allergies,
intolerance, etc.), please call your physician's nurse or clinical assistant:

Rocky Mountain Associates in Orthopedic Medicine is a surgical practice. If
surgery is not an option for you, or if you choose not to have surgery, we will refer you
to another, appropriate provider to further assist you. This may be your family
doctor, a neurologist, psychiatrist, chiropractor, pain management system, etc. We
do not provide chronic pain management. If you need long term pain management, we
will refer you to an appropriate program and assist you for a reasonable length of time,
usually one to three months.
If you have made the decision for surgery, you can expect a post-op course which may
include narcotic pain medications. We will work with you on an individual basis to
decrease or eliminate your use of narcotics as soon as possible. Prolonged use of
narcotics and muscle relaxants is contradictory to good health. We work closely with
a team of psychologists regarding pain management issues and will refer you to them when
appropriate. Your restored heath is our goal.
